Missing Roger Federer on Wimbldeon Centre Court!

As I sat in front of the TV, watching the 2013 Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final between World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and Britain’s hope Andy Murray, I felt a slight pain. It was a pain that had been growing since June 26, 2013 when my all-time favourite tennis player Roger Federer suffered a shocking second round defeat to a much lower ranked Sergei Stakhovsky 6-7 7-6 7-5 7-6. Many had written-off the 7-time champion after this loss but looking at the scoreline, I knew Roger had lost in a tight match and that it was just one of his bad tennis days!

Today, I miss the man terribly on Wimbledon Centre Court. Despite watching two worthy finalists battle it out for the coveted title, I keep imagining Federer play in this final in some alternate universe. May be my imagination turns into a reality next year or in the years to come. The hope shall not die so soon…
